  • A unique opportunity to make new friendships and learn from your fellow photographers - and above all, we have fun! Our previous workshop participants have all raved about how many friends they've made on the trip.

“f/8 Workshops trip to Scotland was fantastic! The photographers were both excellent photographers and excellent teachers. I learned a lot about composition, use of filters, night sky photography, and how to do panoramas. The Lightroom and Instagram workshops were very helpful. The crew was easy going and it was a fun atmosphere.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you need a minimum number of people to run the workshop?

Our f/8 Workshop trips require a minimum number of participants. We appreciate your commitment to joining us and we will confirm the trip a minimum of 3 months in advance (by latest 16th January 2023). Feel free to secure your place on the workshop but please be patient and wait until then to book your flights as we are unable to assist with airline refunds. Please note, we will of course provide a full and immediate refund from our ticketing site Billetto should the workshop not take place.

  • How is payment handled?

We use a third-party service called Billetto. This not only allows us secure online transactions, but we can accept numerous forms of payment. We also accept PayPal or bank transfer (email to discuss) — whatever suits you best!

  • Payment Plan

We can offer a payment plan for those who would like to pay in instalments. Please email us for details!

  • What type of accommodation should I expect?

We will be staying at the fabulous family run 3* Sligachan Hotel in the heart of the Isle of Sky. The hotel is nestled in front of Loch Sligachan, and amongst the Red and Black Cuillin hills. It's the perfect cosy central Isle of Skye location to be for this workshop!

  • What about flights?

Once the workshop achieves the minimum number of participants and is confirmed, we can give you advice on booking your flights in terms of airports and timings. Any questions, please ask away!

  • What if the weather is bad?

Scotland (and the British Isles in general) has very unpredictable weather, no matter what the time of year. If it gets too bad, we will have a Plan B in the case of extremely severe (unsafe) weather, involving food and post-processing and shooting techniques. We never stop learning!

  • What skill levels do you teach?

We teach everyone from beginners to advanced photographers. Even if you don’t have a DSLR, we can help you get the best out of whatever camera you bring along (get in touch if you have any gear-specific questions prior to booking).

  • What fitness level do I need for this trip?

Moderate. This trip will include walks on uneven ground as well as some ascents and descents. Hike times range from 15 minutes to 4 hours. This means a moderate level of fitness will be required. Participants should be comfortable carrying their own camera gear, snacks, and foul weather gear, while walking/hiking.

  • What if I need more information?

Feel free to contact us with any queries that you may have. Once you are registered, we will send out an information pack prior to the workshop with more details.

  • What about cancellations?

Please check our complete Terms & Conditions for more details.
