For this workshop, we're venturing to one of our favourite parts of Italy: The Dolomites! This majestic mountain range is one of the most beautiful parts of Europe for landscape photography and provides a host of photographic opportunities.
Join us on a 6-day photographic adventure around the Italian Alps. With their alpine lakes, lush valleys, jagged snow-capped peaks (twenty of which rise above 3000 metres) it’s easy to see why these mountains are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lago di Braies, Tre Cime, and Alpe Di Siusi are just three of the monumental spots we’ll be hitting.
As three experienced photographers & travellers we know this region well, and with short drives to our favourite locations, constant dedicated personal instruction from each one of us, and only 10 participants taking part, we will help you hone your photography skills and have an incredible experience at the same time.
We’ll show you everything you need to know about your camera and its settings — whether it’s a smartphone, DSLR, or mirrorless. You’ll learn how to photograph these amazing landscapes in all light, include sunrise and sunset, and we’ll furnish you with all the tips and tricks needed to edit your images like a pro!

Frequently Asked Questions
How is payment handled?
We use a third-party service called Billetto. This not only allows us secure online transactions, but we can accept numerous forms of payment. We also accept PayPal or bank transfer (email to discuss) — whatever suits you best!
What type of accommodation should I expect?
We'll be staying at the Hotel Post Gries in Bolzano and the Hotel Aquila in Cortina D’Ampezzo, both 3* hotels, so that we're always close to the shooting locations. You'll have your own room, which can be upgraded to double use if you require it. Contact us for details!
What about flights?
Flights to and from Italy are not included, so shop around for the best deal (as always, the earlier you book, the better). There are two airports that serve the area best are Marco Polo and Treviso. Flight times vary. Let us know if you have any questions. If you feel you want to come early to get the best flights please let us know and we can help and advise.
What if the weather is bad?
With so many mountains and changes in elevation, the weather can sometimes be unpredictable. There is the chance of snow storms on the higher reaches, but snow-capped mountains really add to the photographic beauty of this area! If it gets too bad, we will have a Plan B in the case of extremely severe (unsafe) weather, involving food and post-processing and shooting techniques. We never stop learning!
What skill levels do you teach?
We teach everyone from beginners to advanced photographers. Even if you don’t have a DSLR, we can help you get the best out of whatever camera you bring along (get in touch if you have any gear-specific questions prior to booking).
What fitness level do I need for this trip?
Moderate. We will be doing some light hikes above 2500m. The hikes, despite uneven ground, are not difficult; however, due to the altitude, we are rating them as moderate. This means that a reasonable level of fitness will be required. Participants should be comfortable carrying their own camera gear, snacks, and foul weather gear, for two hours while walking/hiking.
What if I need more information?
Feel free to contact us with any queries that you may have. Once you are registered, we will send out an information pack prior to the workshop with more details.
