Frequently Asked Questions
How is payment handled?
We use a third-party service called Billetto. This not only allows us secure online transactions, but we can accept numerous forms of payment. We also accept PayPal or bank transfer (email to discuss) — whatever suits you best!
What type of accommodation should I expect?
We'll be staying at the 4* Moorings Hotel in Fort William and the 3* Sligachan Hotel in the heart of the Isle of Skye, so that we're always close to the shooting locations. You'll have your own room, which can be upgraded to double use if you require it. Contact us for details!
What about flights?
Flights to and from Scotland / UK are not included, so shop around for the best deal (as always, the earlier you book, the better). We will be collecting people from Glasgow airport but there is an option to fly back from Inverness Airport (additional cost - email for details). Flight times vary. Let us know if you have any questions. If you feel you want to come early to get the best flights please let us know and we can help and advise.
What if the weather is bad?
Scotland (and the British Isles in general) has very unpredictable weather, no matter what the time of year. If it gets too bad, we will have a Plan B in the case of extremely severe (unsafe) weather, involving food and post-processing and shooting techniques. We never stop learning!
What skill levels do you teach?
We teach everyone from beginners to advanced photographers. Even if you don’t have a DSLR, we can help you get the best out of whatever camera you bring along (get in touch if you have any gear-specific questions prior to booking).
What fitness level do I need for this trip?
Moderate. This trip will include walks on uneven ground as well as some ascents and descents. Hike times range from 15 minutes to 4 hours. This means a moderate level of fitness will be required. The hike to the Quiraing we would class as ‘challenging’. Participants should be comfortable carrying their own camera gear, snacks, and foul weather gear, while walking/hiking.
What if I need more information?
Feel free to contact us with any queries that you may have. Once you are registered, we will send out an information pack prior to the workshop with more details.
