Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you need a minimum number of people to run the workshop?

Our f/8 Workshop trips require a minimum number of participants. We appreciate your commitment to joining us and we will confirm the trip a minimum of 3 months in advance (by latest 27 November 2019). Feel free to secure your place on the workshop but please be patient and wait until then to book your flights as we are unable to assist with airline refunds. Please note, we will of course provide a full and immediate refund from our ticketing site Billetto should the workshop not take place.

  • How is payment handled?

We use a third-party service called Billetto. This not only allows us secure online transactions, but we can accept numerous forms of payment. We also accept PayPal or bank transfer (email to discuss) — whatever suits you best!

  • Payment Plan

We can offer a payment plan for those who would like to pay in instalments. Please email us for details!

  • What about flights?

Flights to the Faroe Islands are not included, so shop around for the best deal (as always, the earlier you book, the better). We recommend you fly with Atlantic Airways from many locations including Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Reykjavik and Bergen, as other airline’s often cancel flights if there is adverse weather. Flight times vary greatly, but flights from Copenhagen and Reykjavik are the most frequent. Let us know if you have any questions. If you feel you want to come early or leave later to get the best flights please let us know and we can help and advise. Please check with us that we've confirmed the workshop before booking your flights.

  • What type of accommodation should I expect?

We'll be staying at the friendly and cosy 4* Hotel Hafnia which is perfectly situated in the heart of the tiny capital's Old Town, and within walking distance of the harbour and the historical part of the city. It has cosy interiors and a great restaurant plus views over the whole city. You'll have your own double room, which can be upgraded to double use if you require it. Contact us for details!

  • What if the weather is bad?

The Faroe Islands sit in the middle of the Gulf Stream. While this means it never really gets too cold, the weather can be unpredictable – but this is what makes it so interesting! Wet and foggy conditions make for some fantastically moody photography! If it gets too bad, we will have a Plan B in the case of extremely severe (aka unsafe) weather, involving food and post-processing and shooting techniques. We never stop learning!

  • What skill levels do you teach?

We teach everyone from beginners to advanced photographers. Even if you don’t have a DSLR, we can help you get the best out of whatever camera you bring along (get in touch if you have any gear-specific questions prior to booking).

  • What fitness level do I need for this trip?

Moderate. This trip will include walks on uneven ground as well as some ascents and descents. This means that a reasonable level of fitness will be required, although nothing too strenuous!

  • What if I need more information?

Feel free to contact us with any queries that you may have. Once you are registered, we will send out an information pack prior to the workshop with more details.

  • What about cancellations?

Please check our complete Terms & Conditions for more details.
